Sermon:Qualities of someone embodying Satanic Traits
In the Bible, Satan is portrayed as the following:
◇The tempter(Matthew 4:3)
-Matthew 4:3,"Now when the tempter came to Him."
◇The ruler of the demons(Matthew 12:24)
-Matthew 12:24,"This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub,the ruler of the demons."
◇The god of this age(2 Corinthians 4:4)
-2 Corinthians 4:4,"Whose minds the god of this age has blinded..."
◇The wicked one(1 John 5:18)
-1 John 5:18,"And the wicked one does not touch him."
◇He is a liar(John 8:44)
-John 8:44,"When he speaks a lie,he speaks from his own resources ,for he is a liar and the father of it."
◇The ruler of this world.(John 12:31)
-John 12:31,"Now is the judgment of this world;Now the ruler of this world will be cast out."
◇He is the sinner.(1 John 3:8)
-1 John 3:8,"He who sins is of the devil,for the devil has sinned from the beginning."
◇The great dragón and the serpent of old(Revelation 12:9)
-Revelation 12:9,'So the great dragon was cast out,that serpent of old,called the Devil and Satan..."
◇The Accuser of our brethren (Revelation 12:10)
-Revelation 12:10,"Now salvation,and strength,and the kingdom of God ,and the power of His Christ have come,for the accuser of our brethren,who accused them before God day and night ,has been cast down."
◇Lucifer,the Fallen angel(Isaiah 14:12-15)
-Isaiah 14:12,"How you are fallen from heaven?O Lucifer,son of thr morning!
◇The prince of the power of the air.
-Ephesians 2:2,"In which course of this world ,according to the prince of the power of the air,the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience. "
TRAITS EXHIBITED BY SATAN IN THE BIBLE
◇Pride:He desired to be like God and sought to exalt himself above God.(Isaiah 14:13-14)
-Isaiah 14:13-14,"For you have said in your heart;I will ascend into heaven,I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north;I will ascend above the heights of the cloud,I will be like the Most High."
◇Liar:Satan distorts the truth, manipulates situations, and lies to lead people astray .
-John 8:44,"He was a murderer from the beginning,and does not stand in the truth,because there is no truth in him. "
◇Cunning:Satan is described as subtle and crafty, using strategic methods to undermine God's plan.
-Genesis 3:1,"Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made."
◇Opposes God: Satan is depicted as actively working against God's purposes, whether by causing people to sin, deceiving nations, or seeking to prevent the coming of God's kingdom(Revelation 12:9).
-Revelation 12:9,'So the great dragon was cast out,that serpent of old,called the Devil and Satan,who deceives the whole world.."
◇Deceptive signs and wonders.Satan has power to perform signs and lying wonders.
-2 Thessalonians 2:9-10,"According to the working of Satan,with all power,signs,and lying wonders.And with all unrighteous deception.."
◇Relentless: Satan is relentless in his attempts to lead people astray and destroy them. He does not give up easily and goes about seeking for whom he may devour.
-1 Peter 5:8,"Be sober,be vigilant;because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion,seeking whom He may devour."
QUALITIES OF SOMEONE EMBODYING SATANIC TRAITS INCLUDE:
●Deception:A person who consistently spreads falsehoods, misleading teachings, or deceptive ideas might be acting under satanic influence.
-John 8:44,"You are of your father the devil ,and the desires of your father you want to do.He was a murderer from the beginning,and does not stand in the truth,because there is no truth in him.."
●Rejection of Christ: Anyone who does not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh is not from God and is influenced by the spirit of the antichrist.
-1 John 4:3,"And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.And this is the spirit of the Antichrist...."
●Engaging in various acts of the flesh: Satanic influence is often associated with moral corruption and sin. Galatians 5:19-21 lists various acts of the flesh, such as adultery, fornication,uncleanness ,lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions,jealousies,outbursts of wrath,selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,envy,murders,drunkenness,and revelries which can be signs of satanic influence.
●Resistance to God:A person who consistently opposes God's will and guidance may be under satanic influence.
-James 4:7,"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
●Disruptive Behavior: Individuals who sow division and conflict within a community or church might be influenced by destructive forces.
-Proverbs 6:19,"And one who sows discord among brethren".
●Depriving others of divine benefits Preventing others from accessing spiritual blessings are signs of satanic influence.
-1 Corinthians 7:5,"Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time,that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer."
●Enjoying sin like Satan. Delighting in sinful behavior is a sign of one being under satanic influence.
-1 John 3:8,"He who sins is of the Devil,for the devil has sinned from the beginning. "
●Having a corrupt mindset. Maintaining a morally degraded or deceptive way of thinking is a sign of satanic influence.
-2 Corinthians 11:3,"But I fear,lest somehow ,as the serpent deceived Eve by His craftiness,so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. "
●Being a murderer and rejecting the truth. Engaging in violence and dishonesty.
-John 8:44,"He was a murderer from the beginning..."
●Ignoring spiritual matters.Disregarding one's relationship with God by not minding the things of God.
-Matthew 16:23,"Get behind me Satan! You are an offense to Me,for you are not mindful of the things of God,but the things of men."
●Following human traditions. Prioritizing man-made customs over divine teachings.
-1 Corinthians 11:16,"But if anyone seems to be contentious,we have no such customs,nor do the churches of God."
●Causing others sorrow. Intentionally bringing grief or distress to others.
-2 Corinthians 2:3,"Lest,when I come,I should have sorrow over those from whom I ought to have joy,having confidence in you all that my joy is the joy of you all."
●Tempting others to sin. Leading others into wrongdoing.
-Matthew 4:1-11,"Then the Lord was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil....."
●Opposing God and exalting oneself. Defying God and elevating oneself above worship.
- 2 Thessalonians 2:4,"Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped ,so that He sits as God in the temple of God,showing himself that He is God."
●Being lawless. Exhibiting a disregard for divine laws and moral order.
-2 Thessalonians 2:9,"The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan.."
●Being boastful and conceited.Having an inflated sense of self-importance.
-2 Corinthians 12:6,"For though I might desire to boastful, I will not be a foolish,for I will speak the truth."
●Acting as a messenger of Satan. Serving as a source of affliction or temptation.
-2 Corinthians 12:7,"And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of you of the revelations ,a thorn in the flesh was given to Me,a messenger of Satan to buffet me,lest I be exalted above measure."
●Cheating, delighting in falsehood. Engaging in deceit and arrogance.
-Colossians 2:18,"Let no one cheat you of your reward ,taking delight in false humility and worship of angels,intruding into those things which he has not seen,vanity puffed up by His fleshly mind."
●Forsaking God for Satan.Turning away from God and following satanic influences.
-1 Timothy 5:15,"For some have already turned aside for Satan."
●Knowing the depths of Satan. Being deeply entangled with and burdened by satanic forces.
-Revelation 2:24,"As many as do not have this doctrine,who have not known the depths of Satan,as they say,I will put on you no other burden.."
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Lord Jesus, i ask that by your great and mighty power,you will lead all to repentance and fill their hearts with the joy of your salvation in Jesus',Amen.
PRAYERS
1. I renounce my sinful nature and fully embrace Jesus Christ as my Savior in Jesus' name.
2. Every satanic agent sent to deprive me of the blessings of life, scatter now in Jesus' name.
3. Father, cleanse my heart of lies and fill me with the Holy Spirit in Jesus' name.
4. Every innocent bloodshed in the past that cries against me, be silenced by the blood of Jesus.
5. I resist every form of satanic practice around me and declare them null and void, in Jesus' name.
6. I overcome all satanic opposition to my progress and advancement in life in the mighty name of Jesus.
7. Lord Jesus, swallow up my enemies in your wrath and scatter them in the name of Jesus.
8. Father, empower me to reject evil and live a righteous life in Jesus' name.
9. Satan, hear me now: You can no longer have dominion over me, for I am a child of God in Jesus' name.
10. Father, send your angel to guard and protect me in Jesus' name.
11. Every satanic power troubling my spirit, be destroyed by the power of Jesus' name.
12. I destroy the powers that manipulate nations and lead them into sin in the name of Jesus.
13. Demonic powers that inflict pain and sickness, I command you to be destroyed in Jesus' name.
14. I resist the authority of Satan over my life and command him to release my life, my family, and my marriage in Jesus' name.
15. Father, hide your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you in Jesus' name.
16. I bind and cast out every demonic spirit and command its assignment against me to cease in Jesus' name.
17. I plead the blood of Jesus over my food, and I declare that demons will not enter my life through it in Jesus' name.
18. Father, make me wiser than my enemies in Jesus' name.
19. Every satanic device meant to manipulate my life, be destroyed in Jesus' name.
20. Every satanic agent assigned to sell or deliver me to Satan, perish by fire in Jesus' name.
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.Amen
