Sermon:Hearing God's voice

HOW DO YOU HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD?

•The voice of God can be heard by studying the word of God.One way to hear God's voice is by reading and studying the Bible,which is the Word of God.

- Romans 10:17:,"Faith comes by hearing,and hearing by the word of God.

•By the hearing of faith you hear God's voice.Hearing God's voice is connected to having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and living by faith in Him.

-Galatians 2:20:,"I live by faith in the son of God ,who loved me and gave Himself for me.

•Through the steadfast word spoken through angels.Hearing God's voice is also connected to the message spoken by angels in the Bible, such as prophecies, revelations, and divine guidance

-Hebrews 2:2,"For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast,and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward.

•The voice of the Lord can be heard from heaven.

-Matthew 3:17,"And suddenly a voice came from heaven,saying,"This is My beloved son,in whom I am well pleased."

-Deuteronomy 4:36,"Out of heaven He let you hear His voice."

-1 Peter 1:18,"And we heard this voice which came from heaven."

•Hearing God's voice involves seeking personal/intimate time with God.

-Genesis 3:10:I heard your voice in the garden"

•Setting aside dedicated time for worship and prayer can create an environment for hearing His voice.

-Numbers 7:89,"Now Moses went into the tabernacle of meeting to speak with Him."

•The voice of the Lord can be heard by being attentive in moments of spiritual seeking.

-Danieal 10:9,"Yet I heard the sound of his words;and while I heard the sound of his words..."

 •Hearing God's voice involves patience and expectation in prayer and meditation.

-Isaiah 64:4,"For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear,nor has the eye seen any God besides you,who acts for the one who waits for Him."

WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN YOU HEAR GOD'S VOICE.

▪︎Hardening your heart(Hebrews 3:7,Hebrews 3:15 and Hebrews 4:7)

-Hebrews 3:15,"Today,if you hear His voice ,Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."

HOW POWERFUL IS GOD'S VOICE?

▪︎Psalm 29:3: The voice of the Lord is over the waters.

▪︎Psalm 29:4: The voice of the Lord is powerful and full of majesty.

▪︎Psalm 29;5: The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars.

▪︎Psalm 29:7: The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.

▪︎Psalm 29:8: The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness.

Psalm 29:9: The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth, and strips the forests bare.

▪︎Psalm 68:33: His voice is mighty.

▪︎Psalm 46:6: His voice melts the earth.

▪︎Ezekiel 43:2: His voice is like the sound of many waters.

▪︎Revelation 1:10: His voice is loud and sounds like a trumpet.

▪︎Hebrews 12:26: His voice shook the earth.

▪︎Revelation 21:3: His voice is loud, a loud voice from heaven.

BARRIERS TO HEARING GOD'S VOICE

◇Distraction:Busy schedules and noise in daily life can drown out the quiet voice of God.

◇Sin and Disobedience:Unconfessed sin or a rebellious heart can create distance from God, making it difficult to hear Him.

◇Lack of Faith:Doubt or a lack of belief in God can prevent openness to His voice.

◇Unforgiveness: Holding onto resentment can block spiritual receptivity and create a barrier to intimacy with God.

◇Pride:A self-sufficient attitude may lead one to overlook God's guidance,believing they can navigate life alone.

◇Fear:Anxiety or fear of what God might say can inhibit one’s willingness to listen.

◇Busyness: Constant activity can prevent time spent in prayer, reflection, and solitude necessary for hearing God.

◇Negative Influences:Toxic relationships or environments that discourage faith can drown out God’s voice.

◇Emotional Pain:Trauma or unresolved emotional issues can cloud perception and make it hard to sense God’s presence.

◇Lack of Spiritual Discipline: Neglecting prayer, meditation, and reading scripture can limit understanding and connection to God.

◇Rebellion can prevent us from hearing God’s voice.(Hebrews 3:16)

PRAYER

1.Lord, I wait for you with an expectant heart. Reveal your purposes to me and help me recognize your movement in my life,in Jesus name.

2.God, grant me the vision to see your glory . Open my eyes to the profound moments where you speak to me,in Jesus name.

3.Heavenly Father, I desire to walk with you in intimacy. Help me to be aware of your presence in my daily life,in Jesus name.

4.Speak to me, Lord,and help me to hear your voice clearly in times of uncertainty,in Jesus name.

5.God,I seek your words of wisdom. Guide my leaders and me to understand your message for our lives,in Jesus name.

6.Lord, may my prayer time be a sacred space where I can hear you speak. Help me to be attentive in my worship,in Jesus name.

7.Father, when I seek you,may I be open to your voice. Help me to listen for your guidance in my prayers,in Jesus name.

8.Lord, keep my heart soft and receptive. Help me to listen to your voice today and not harden my heart,in Jesus name.

9.God,let me hear your Spirit speaking to me. Teach me to be obedient to your promptings in my life,in Jesus name.

10.Speak to me, Lord,and grant me the understanding I need to follow your will,in Jesus name.

11.Lord, I stand in awe of your voice. Help me to listen attentively to your teachings and revelations,in Jesus name.

12.God, thank you for the privilege of hearing from you. Help me to approach you with reverence and an open heart,in Jesus name.

13.Help me,Lord, to hear your call and respond with courage and faith,in Jesus name.

14.Lord,protect my heart from rebellion. Help me to remain humble and open to your guidance,in Jesus name.

15..God,I long to hear you walking with me. May my days be filled with moments of communion with you,in Jesus name.

16.Father,speak to me from the wonders of creation. Help me to recognize your voice in the beauty around me,in Jesus name.

17.Lord, when I hear your words, may I respond with reverence and obedience,in Jesus name.

18.Lord, I bring my worries to you in prayer. Help me to hear your voice amidst my anxiety and find your peace,in Jesus name.

19.O Lord,help me to quiet my heart so I can hear your whispers,in Jesus name.

20.Generous God, grant me wisdom as I seek your voice. I ask for clarity in my decisions and the courage to follow,in Jesus name.
