Sermon:The benefits of Positive confession

WHY IS IT BENEFICIAL TO CONFESS POSITIVELY?

Positive confessions are declarations that affirm truth, hope, and faith in our lives. These uplifting statements can have a profound impact, not only on our mindset but also on how we approach life. 

▪︎Strengthens trust in God.

Positive confessions involve speaking uplifting and affirming statements about oneself or one's life.Regularly declaring positive truths can deepen one's trust in God and His promises.

▪︎Transformative Power:Positive confessions hold transformative power in shaping our mindset and outlook on life. By declaring good, true, and hopeful things, we shift our perspective and transform how we view ourselves and the world around us.

▪︎Boosts Self-esteem and mood: Speaking positive words about ourselves can lead to increased Self-esteem,improved mood and a more optimistic view of life.

▪︎Shifts focus from limitations to Possibilities: Confessing positively redirects our attention from obstacles to opportunities. It opens our hearts and minds to the endless possibilities God has prepared for us.

▪︎Provides strength during challenges: Positive confessions can be a source of strength when facing difficulties. They remind us that we have the power to overcome any challenge, reinforcing the belief that obstacles are not permanent 

but opportunities for growth. 

▪︎Reduces stress and anxiety: Replacing negative self-talk with affirmations of faith and positivity reduces anxiety and stress. These confessions help calm the mind and focus on God's promises rather than the pressures of life.

▪︎Attracts positive energy and opportunities: Positive confessions act as a magnet for blessings. By embracing a mindset of abundance and positivity, we attract new opportunities, people, and experiences that align with God's plan for us.

▪︎Builds emotional resilience: It helps to  build emotional resilience by reinforcing positive beliefs about ourselves and our abilities. As we confess positive truths, we reinforce our belief in our ability to handle challenges and bounce back stronger.

▪︎Fosters Self-belief and empowerment: Regular positive confessions cultivate a deep sense of self-belief and empowerment. Positive confessions empower us to act with confidence, knowing that we are capable and supported by God's grace.

 THE BENEFITS OF POSITIVE CONFESSIONS BASED ON THE BIBLE

■Positive Confessions align us with God’s word

◇Our words reflect what is in our hearts. When we confess positively, we align our hearts with His word, allowing spiritual growth to take place.

- Matthew 12:34,“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” 

◇Regularly confessing God's word causes it to become embedded in our hearts, transforming our thinking and actions in alignment with His will.

-Psalm 119:11,“Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You.”

■Positive confessions strengthen our faith.

◇Confession of Jesus as Lord is the foundation of salvation. Confessing positively activates our faith and declares our trust in God's ability.

-Romans 10:9-10,"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead,you will be saved.....With the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 

◇Faith is connected to what we speak. Confession gives voice to our faith and activates the power of belief in God’s promises.

-Mark 11:22-24,"Have faith in God.For assuredly,I say to you,whoever says to this mountain,'Be removed and be cast into the sea,and does not doubt in his heart,but believes that those things he says will be done,he will have whatever he says......Whatever things you ask when you pray,believe that you receive them and you will have them. "

■Positive confessions impact our emotional and mental health.

◇Positive confessions guard our hearts and minds by keeping them focused on truth rather than negativity or fear.

-Proverbs 4:23,"Keep your heart with all diligence,for out of it spring the issues of life.” 

◇Speaking positively helps us focus on God’s goodness, thereby replacing anxiety and worry with peace.

 -Philippians 4:8,"..Whatever things are true,whatever things are noble,whatever things are just,whatever things are pure,whatever things are lovely,whatever things are of good report,if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things."

■Positive Confessions are an act of spiritual warfare.

◇The sword of the Spirit,which is the word of God is used in spiritual warfare.Speaking God's word is a way of resisting the lies of the enemy and declaring victory over fear, doubt, and temptation.

-Ephesians 6:17,"And take the helmet of salvation,and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” 

◇Jesus’ use of Scripture during His temptation shows us how speaking God’s Word is an effective weapon against the enemy’s attacks.(Matthew 4:1-11)

■Positive confessions cultivate a positive environment.

◇The words we speak influence our environment and those around us.Positive confessions bring peace,harmony,unity and encouragement.

 -Proverbs 15:1,“A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” 

◇Speaking life through positive confessions fosters healing and peace in relationships and communities.

-Proverbs 16:24,"Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. "

 ■Positive confessions are a testimony of God’s power in our Lives.

◇Confessing God's goodness and faithfulness is a powerful testimony of His work in our lives.

-Psalm 71:15-16,"My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And your salvation all the day,For I do not know their limits."

◇Positive confessions are a testimony of  what God has done, and they declare our hope for what He will continue to do in the future.

-Revelation 12:11,"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. "

■Positive confessions lead to manifestation of God's promises.

◇Positive confessions align our hearts with God's will, and when we speak in faith, we open the door to seeing the manifestation of God’s promises in our lives.

-Mark 11:24,"Whatever things you ask when you pray,believe that you receive them,and you will have them. "

PRACTICAL BENEFITS OF POSITIVE CONFESSIONS 

▪︎Improved Relationships.

◇Our words can either build up or tear down relationships. Speaking life and positivity can foster stronger, more loving connections with others.

-Proverbs 18:21,"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

◇Positive, encouraging speech strengthens relationships and helps others grow.

 - Ephesians 4:29,"Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth,but what is good for necessary edification,that it may impart grace to the hearers."

 ▪︎Better Health. 

◇Positive confessions rooted in God's promises can lead to better emotional and physical health.

-Proverbs 4:20-22,"My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh."*  

◇Speaking words that bring peace and healing can improve emotional and mental well-being.

-Proverbs 15:4,"A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,But perverseness in it breaks the spirit."

▪︎Increased Prosperity.

◇Faith-filled declarations have power, and aligning our words with God's will can bring breakthrough and prosperity.

-Mark 11:23,"For assuredly,I say to you,whoever says to this mountain,'Be removed and be cast into the sea,and does not doubt in his heart,but believes  that those things he says will be done,he will have whatever he says."

◇Positive confessions can lead to prosperity, as they reflect a mindset of faith and diligence that can attract success.

-Proverbs 12:14,"A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth,and yhe recompense of a man's hands will be rendered to him."

▪︎Peaceful Life.

◇Speaking positive words in line with God's promises can promote a peaceful life.

-Isaiah 26:3,"You will keep in perfect peace,whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you." 

◇Speaking and believing God's peace over your life can lead to a more tranquil and less anxious existence.

-Philippians 4:6-7,"Be anxious for nothing,but in everything by prayer and supplication,with thanksgiving,let your requests be made known to God;and the peace of God ,which surpasses all understanding,will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

     

POSITIVE CONFESSIONS 

1) My foundation is firmly rooted in Jesus Christ, and my life reflects His righteousness. I walk in the light of His truth, and His character is evident in all I do in Jesus' name.

2) My life is a magnet for miracles, blessings, and divine favor. God's abundant goodness is constantly at work in my circumstances, bringing forth supernatural opportunities and breakthroughs in Jesus' name.

3)I will live to witness the full manifestation of God's goodness in my life. His favor will be evident in every area, and His blessings will overflow in ways I cannot contain in Jesus' name.

4) I am endowed with divine attributes and gifts from God. His Holy Spirit empowers me, and I possess all I need to fulfill His purpose for my life in Jesus' name.

5)I will live with purpose, fully dedicated to fulfilling the will of God for my life. Every step I take aligns with His divine plan, and I am committed to walking in obedience and faithfulness in Jesus' name.

6) I receive abundant blessings, healing, and miracles from Almighty God. His power is at work in my life, bringing restoration and wholeness in every area in Jesus' name.

7) I live a life marked by favor, prosperity, health, victory, and success. God's promises are fulfilled in me, and His grace enables me to thrive in all that I do in Jesus' name.

8)I am bold and inspired by the gospel of Christ. The message of His love and salvation compels me to speak His truth with confidence and passion in Jesus' name.

9)I receive the word of God into my heart, and I declare that it is producing results in my life. His Word is alive in me, bringing transformation, growth, and abundance in Jesus' name.

10)I reject negative or harmful thoughts, choosing instead to meditate on what is pure, lovely, honest, and praiseworthy. My mind is aligned with God's truth, and I think according to His word in Jesus' name.

11) I am diligent in carrying out the assignment God has given me in life. I am faithful and committed to the work He has set before me, knowing that He equips me for every task in Jesus' name.

12)I receive the power to create change because the Holy Spirit lives within me. I am not powerless—His presence equips me to bring transformation in my life and the lives of others in Jesus' name.

13)I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old has passed away, and I have been made brand new. I embrace my new identity and walk in the fullness of who I am in Him in Jesus' name.

14)I will live in peace and enjoy the goodness of the Lord every day of my life. His peace guards my heart, and His favor surrounds me, giving me rest and joy in Jesus' name.

15)I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. I stand firm in the strength and confidence that come from God's Spirit living within me in Jesus' name.

16)I am more than a conqueror through Christ, who loves me. No matter the challenges I face, I know that I am victorious because of His love and grace in Jesus' name.

17)The Lord has plans for me—plans to prosper me and not to harm me. I trust in His perfect plan for my life, and I know that He is guiding me toward a future filled with hope in Jesus' name.

18)I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. His power is at work within me, enabling me to overcome every obstacle and accomplish everything He has called me to do in Jesus' name.

19)I claim victory over every struggle in life, knowing that God is with me every step of the way. With Him on my side, I am more than able to face and overcome any challenge in Jesus' name.

20) I embrace my victory in Christ, confident that His love empowers me to triumph over every obstacle life presents. Through His strength, I am guaranteed to walk in total victory in Jesus' name.
